#108 - Adjustable Frame

Adjustable Frame During the 1600-1700's, these frames, made in many sizes, were widely used not only in homes but also in embroidery workshops where they were often 5 or more feet in size. Depending on size, they were placed on the lap, on work tables, or on trestles (see below).

This frame is adjustable, having holes along 2 sides. The 4 handmade pegs are glued in place after you determine the desired size.

#108A - Trestles

Trestles These trestles, sold as a pair for the Adjustable Frame (appearing above), were commonly used in the home.

Each has just 3 legs. The ends of the trestles (with the single legs), allow room for a chair or stool.

Recently, the trestles were slightly redesigned for more stability and durability.

#109 - Slate Frame

Slate Frame This frame is ideal when held in the hand of a doll or temporarily laid down on a table or chair awaiting m'lady's return. There is a little handmade peg glued through the holes in each corner. This frame is not adjustable.
